Macon

During our 2 night stand at Riverfront Bluez we took time out to visit a few of Macon's musical landmarks.

We have a number of diverse influences in our music, but none is more evident than that of the Allman Brothers Band.

We are fortunate to know first hand what Duane meant when he talked about "hittin' the note", and that's what we strive for every time we play.

The Georgia Music Hall of Fame

Personally i was disappointed with the Georgia Music Hall of Fame. I felt that the Allman Bros. were virtually ignored, and most of the artifacts for all of the exhibits were less than 5 years old.

On the other hand, they did have the picture from Blues Day Out on display. Blues Cat was very proud to be a part of this photo that featured so many of the blues musicians that call Georgia home.

The Big House

The Big House was the coolest place we visited while in Macon. This is a must see for any fan of the Allman Brothers Band. They called this home during the early seventies, and it is loaded with the history of the band.

While there we were treated to a current live performance of the Allman Bros. on DVD. They are playing the best they have since the days with Duane and Berry.

Rose Hill Cemetery

Duane and Berry have a nice peaceful spot where they are surely still "hittin' the note".
