Last Week

The Depot

110 Depot St.
Dalton, Ga.
(706) 226-3160

The Depot rocked on Friday night. As it turns out, there are a lot of cool people in Dalton, Ga. Here is just a partial list:

  • The Nine Inch Nails guy
  • The drunk who knew "Telephone Song"
  • The chick who got on stage and tried to sing
  • Morgan (My favorite Daltonite)
  • The dude who emptied his guts, then tried to drive home
  • The black redneck
  • The guy who left the key to the trailer in his motel room
    • Jeff
    • Tim
    • Bob
    • Randy

Randy Dorris, sittin' in for Mark on drums, did a great job, and we really enjoyed playing with him again.

Needless to say, we had a wonderful time, and we can't wait to play in Dalton again.

Private Party

Saturday we played for a group of summer associates from a local law firm. Being a summer associate means that this party was about all they got in return for their hard work. Although, I'm sure that some of these hardworking lawyer wannabes will end up with a real job at the firm, and maybe in a hundred years or so one of them may even receive a partnership. Blues Cat wishes good luck to all of them!

Did you hear the one about the dead snake in the road?

The good news is that the party was at the Atlanta Brewery. The closer we are to beer, the better we play, we think.

Anyway, we had a great time, and we hope that we get a chance to play for our lawyer friends again soon.

Fat Matt's Rib Shack

1811 Piedmont Rd.
Atlanta,Ga.
(404) 607-1622

We had a blast at Fat Matt's Sunday night. We made a lot of new friends and got to see some of our old friends including:

  • The Cowans
  • Our friends who used to work at Jelly Rolls
  • Bud & Kathryn
  • and of course, Arby

We made one special new friend. Liz Melendez sat in and steamed up the place with a great voice and some excellent guitar playing. She fronts the her own band, Blues Excursion, and she hosts a blues jam Tuesday nights at the old Wreck Room (now Culture Club). Check her out, you won't be disappointed.

If you're not coming to Fat Matt's on Sunday nights in July, you're missing all the fun. See you next week!

On The Rocks

335 Upper Riverdale Rd.
Jonesboro, Ga.
(770) 907-9164

News Flash

Well, so much for another night off. Two nights in a row of Rock 'n Disco. It just doesn't get any better.

Actually On The Rocks is a pretty cool club, and the more of you who come and party with us, the cooler it will be.

Irish Bred

6459 Highway 42 #9
Rex, Ga.
(770) 389-8970

The last time we played here we had a blast, so come on down to the southside and check it out.

As usual on the southside, they have a great DJ here who will keep the dance floor hopping during our breaks. Even if you don't dance, it's fun to watch.

Fat Matt's Rib Shack

1811 Piedmont Rd.
Atlanta,Ga.

Fat Matt's is definitely the place to be on Sunday night.

It's a No-Brainer!

Don't forget, it's an early show, so you can have a great time and still get the rest you're gonna need to be able to deal with Monday.
