| It was cold
and dreary outside Saturday night, but inside Fat Matt's it was cookin'.
We had a great
crowd, we had Tim Gardner on drums, and we hadn't
played a gig in two weeks. It's had to explain how not
playing for a couple of weeks affects the music, but it makes everything
sound fresh and new. You tend to hear things
in the music that you hadn't heard before,
and new ideas just seem to flow into your playing. |
| We finally played
the Northside Tavern on Sunday afternoon, and for a while it was a
blast. We were hosting the monthly meeting of the Atlanta Blues Society,
and we were planning on a jammin' afternoon.
We had a great turnout for the meeting,
and I saw plenty of toys and canned food for Toys for Tots & Feed
the Hungry, also a lot of the best players in Atlanta were there,
and they were ready to play.
Anyway, we had a great set going, and we
were just about to kick it into high gear (Whipping Post) when the power
went out. Bummer!
We want to thank the Atlanta Blues
Society for having us, and we want to apologize to all of the musicians
who didn't get to play. Next time we will definitely kick out the
jams. We also want to thank Caroline for taking pictures of the
event. |
