| We decided to help out a good
friend of ours, and we agreed to play a set at Stone Mountain Harley
Davidson on Saturday afternoon. We are always up for a little Bikes,
Babes and Blues Cat.
We met at the Rio Bravo to get prepared for the show.
You know, go over the set list, drink a couple of pitchers of margaritas
and do a shot of jager (well, we didn't actually go over the set list).
Then we headed over to the gig.
As we stumbled into the parking lot, we were ready to Rock
'n Roll! Unfortunately, we were the only ones ready to rock. There was
mass confusion around the stage, as sound guys tried to blame each other
for screwing things up. We figured that they would figure it out sooner or
later, so we decided to check out the bikes and babes.
We were just sort of chillin' and looking at all the
cool Harleys when we spotted the Hooters Girls. Lets just say that
I'm no longer allowed to bring my camera within a hundred yards of a
Hooters Girl.
About this time the first band started to play. I don't
remember their name. I think they might be pretty good, but I'm not sure
because the sound system sounded like crap. Anyway, we decided that we had
better get up and play before the buzz wore off.
Greg, Ben (Ben Marshall was sitting in on drums for the
first time with us, and I hope we get to play with him again soon) and I
decided to warm things up with a little jam. Well, the sound on stage was
about the worst that I can remember, and the sound out front (if there was
any sound out front) was even worse.
When Jeff came up to kick the show into high gear, there
was nothing coming out of the main speakers. After about fifteen minutes
of sitting on the stage doing nothing, we decided to call it a day. Oh
well, here are some pictures: |
