We only had one
gig this weekend, as Brewsters was double booked, and Fat Matt's was
closed for Easter. There was a smaller crowd than usual at the Sports
Cafe, presumably because some people had to get up early Sunday and hunt
for Easter Eggs.
Anyway, the people that were there were great, and
what began as a slow night turned out to be one of our best gigs ever.
Greg is playing so good that Mark and I are groovin'
more than ever, and Jeff is singing his butt off. We know that we are a
part of something very special, and we know that it won't last forever.
As musicians, this is as good as it gets, and we are making the most of
it.
As you can see from the pictures, we weren't the only
ones having a great time Saturday night. It sure wouldn't be as much fun
if we didn't have so many wonderful friends that come out and support
us.
We had a little help from our friends too. We are
having so much fun playing that it shows, and when other musicians come
to hear us, they want to play some themselves.
- Irving did "The Wind Cries Mary" with
Greg
- Jack sang "Pride and Joy" with the band
- And Steve played bass on "Every Day I Have the
Blues" which he also sang
- One of Jeff's old friends sat in on guitar, but I
can't remember which tune we did
Anyway, they were all great, and we really enjoyed
jamming with them. We normally don't encourage sit-ins, but when you're
having this much fun, sometimes you have to share it with your friends.
Come on out to the Sports Cafe next week. I'll bet it
will be even better than this week! |
