| Blue Sky Tavern-Thursday

Blues Cat hosted the Thursday night jam at the Blue Sky
Tavern this week, and it was a fun way to start an incredible three
night stand. There were so many good players, that we barely had time to
get them all up on stage.
I wish that I could remember everyone's name, but I can't even come
close. Everyone rocked, except maybe the old country guy, but even he
had his moments.
I want to give special thanks to Hal from the band Leebo, both for
letting me do the gig, and for tearing up the bass while giving me a
much needed break.
Also, for this gig I have to bring back the Joe Bob Briggs' breast
rating system.

Now it was our turn, and we made the most of it. This is
our second weekend with Greg, and now that we are getting to know each
other musically, we are having a blast.
Randy Dorris played congas (or bongos, as they are known on the
Southside) all night, and they really added a lot. I wish we could
afford to have Randy playing congas at every gig.
The support that we are getting on the Southside has been phenomenal.
Special thanks to Hootie & Bridgette for being there all three
nights, and for bringing so many friends each night.
There were so many highlights that it is hard to pick the best one,
but I did enjoy the end of the night, when a bevy beautiful girls
got up on stage and danced with us. The rest of the highlights were
musical and a little more subtle. Anyway, we had a great time, and we
couldn't wait to do it again on Saturday. |

This was the night. It all came together, and was
definitely the best night we have had since playing with Greg.
Randy couldn't play congas with us on Saturday, 'cause he was busy
covering our butt with Eric Austin up at the Sports Cafe. Thanks Randy!
Did I mention that Bill & Shelly Ainsworth were in attendance on
Saturday? (This is an example of shameless self-promotion)
Greg really tore the guitar up Saturday night, and having a different
guitar player makes all the old songs sound new again. We are all
listening more, and we're playing with more enthusiasm than we have in a
while. I do miss the comfort zone we had after three years with Tim, but
it is a lot more exciting to play close to the edge, and at times we
were very close to the edge.
Wouldn't you just know that after a gig this good, there would be a
serious let down. (Stay Tuned) |

Fat Matt's is still the best!
We have to readjust our energy level to play at Fat Matt's after Blue
Sky, but it cooks once we hit the zone.
Everyone came late on Sunday, I mean we had a good crowd from the
start, including Matt, Mike and Fred ..er ..ah Eric. But, Debbie &
Lindsey, Lucy & Rob, and all of our wonderful girlfriends showed up
just in time for the last set. Better late than never, and we appreciate
everyone that came out Sunday night.
This is such a fun place to play, and we look forward to it every
week. The more of you that come out to see us, the more fun everyone
(including us) has. Come on out next week, and see what I'm talking
about. |
