Brewsters-Friday 03/17/2000
|
|
Because it was St. Patrick's Day, and
probably more importantly because Chicago Pizza has been shut down,
Brewsters was packed Friday night. We took full advantage of the
opportunity to play for so many drunk, disorderly and crazy people, and
we had a blast.
The wonderful staff at Brewsters had their hands full.
They even had to call in extra help. Bob, Tina, Noelle, Julie, John and
the rest of the staff did a great job of dealing with the craziness.
Randy Dorris was sitting in again for Mark this
weekend because Mark was still in the Bahamas (Mark misses all the good
gigs, but then I doubt that the Bahamas sucked either). Anyway, Randy
did a great job, and he even helped us introduce two new songs to our
set list.
Speaking
of Drummers
Here some of the people and events from
Friday night:
-
Our girlfriends came all the way from
downtown to see us. For the benefit of the married members of Blues
Cat, they are not really our girlfriends, but they are
girlfriends. Anyway, it was really good to see them, and they
definitely helped to make the night special.
-
Alex, who has more connections than a
super computer, was there. He was in a back booth holding high
powered meetings all night.
-
We had some wonderful dancers Friday
night. One, in particular, was described as having Shania Twain's
ass. Well, who's ever ass it was, it looked just fine on her.
-
Also, some of you might remember Liz
from New Years Eve. She was there with a virtual army of Tambourine
Girls to celebrate hubby's birthday.
-
I knew that it was going to be a good
night when I noticed that the sidewalk outside was a Harley parking
lot. The Hellcats and Hell Kittens always rock!
-
The beautiful and stylish Flower
Girls were there (in my dreams, they're selling lingerie).
-
John Denver was there with his new
wife. They held their wedding at the Chapel of Dead Rock Stars in
Vegas. Elvis was there, as was Jimi Hendrix and Keith Richards.
What, Keith Richards isn't dead yet? Are you sure?
Even though St. Patty's Day is over,
Chicago Pizza is still closed , so next Friday at Brewsters should rock.

The Brew House-Saturday 03/17/2000
|
|
Well, if you ever want to have a cold
and dreary day, just book Blues Cat for a party at The Brew House.
The Brew House is a great place to have a
party. The food is excellent, the beer is cold, and they have a wonderful
staff. We enjoyed ourselves because the sound was so good, and because the
people that did show up were of such high quality. Here is the complete
list:
The Charms opened and they were very good.
I highly recommend that you hire them for your next Irish party (if Blues
Cat is already booked).
Anyway, we hope everyone had wonderful and
safe St. Patrick's Day, and that next year you plan to celebrate it at The
Brew House!
