Week of 2/28/2000
Brewsters Friday 2/25/2000

We want to thank Randy Dorris for sitting in for Mark this weekend, but we especially want to thank him for bringing Jennifer and Jada to Brewsters Friday night. We always dig a little deeper, try a little harder, and play a little better when there are pretty girls listening to us.

Lil Bit kicked my butt on 3 Peaks, and now I'm her slave for a week. I have to do whatever she desires. Unfortunately, what she desires is that I stay as far away from her as possible. This isn't what I was hoping for.

Tim and I switched back to our old positions on the stage. It wasn't working with Tim right in front of the bar. I guess it sounds better, but now I don't have a cool place to set my beer.

Sports Cafe Saturday 2/26/2000

Well, we didn't have a problem with volume Saturday night as about a third of the crowd was deaf(this wasn't because we were too loud last week). They were dancin' and signin' and they seemed to be enjoying themselves. We certainly enjoyed having them there, and we hope they come out and see us again.

There were also a lot of little kids there, and one little kid hatin' old lady. She was complaining that she couldn't get drunk and enjoy herself. Judging by her condition when she left, she had been able to overcome her obstacles. The kids were a little rowdy, but how can you not like to see kids have such a good time.

Hootie and Joe were there, and it was really good to see them again. They are just a couple of the reasons that we enjoy playing on the south side. Hootie?

After the gig, we headed over to the USA Cafe for some late night breakfast, and to act like jerks (all guys in bands act like jerks when they go out to eat after a gig. It's our nature). Actually we were all just trying to impress Shannon, our very pretty waitress.

Fat Matt's Rib Shack Sunday 2/27/2000

We ended the weekend on our usual high note, Fat Matt's!

We had a great crowd when we started, but it picked up dramatically when Courtney and friends showed up at the beginning of the second set. Even though she wasn't feeling quite as thirsty as last week, Courtney still managed to demonstrate her championship style a couple of times. Jeff even managed to get a beer down ... finally.

I got an e-mail from the girls that I hope they don't mind me sharing. Courtney isn't the only girl who can drink beer. All of  the girls who signed this e-mail are accomplished beer drinkers. Here it is:

hey guys, we just read the journal.  we had another great night tonight at fat matt's.  don't worry we are wearing our shirts next sunday. i lhave to admit you guys are awesome and we always have a great time singing and playing the tamberine:)  however, ann is not allowed to touch the tamberine.  we will hook up and go to the clairmont lounge soon.  get ready for sybill's b-day party, it will be a blast.  save us the table.  until sunday,

THE GIRLS:

How could you not want to be at Fat Matt's next Sunday? It's definitely the place to be, and maybe we'll all head over to the Clairmont after the gig.
